Banana Nutella Folded Tortilla (Print Version)

Warm folded tortilla layered with Nutella, sliced bananas, and optional hazelnuts for a quick snack.

# Components:

→ Main

01 - 2 large flour tortillas
02 - 4 tablespoons Nutella or chocolate-hazelnut spread
03 - 2 medium ripe bananas, sliced
04 - 2 tablespoons chopped hazelnuts (optional)
05 - 1 tablespoon unsalted butter

→ Garnish (optional)

06 - Powdered sugar for dusting
07 - Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream to serve

# Directions:

01 - Place a tortilla flat on a cutting board. Using a knife or scissors, cut from the center of the tortilla straight to one edge.
02 - Visualize the tortilla divided into four quarters. Spread 2 tablespoons of Nutella on the first quarter, place half the banana slices on the second, sprinkle 1 tablespoon chopped hazelnuts on the third (optional), and leave the fourth quarter plain or add extra Nutella.
03 - Starting at the cut edge, fold the Nutella-covered quarter over the bananas, then over the hazelnuts, and finally over the last quarter to form a compact triangle.
04 - Repeat the layering and folding process with the second tortilla and remaining ingredients.
05 - Heat unsalted butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the folded wraps and cook for 1 to 2 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.
06 - Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar, and topped with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream if desired.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • It comes together in 10 minutes flat, which means dessert doesn't feel like a project.
  • The contrast of crispy, buttery edges against melty Nutella and soft bananas is genuinely addictive.
  • You probably have everything in your kitchen already, or close enough.
02 -
  • The tortilla needs to be genuinely pliable—if it's been sitting in a cold pantry for weeks, let it rest at room temperature for a few minutes or it'll crack when you fold.
  • Medium heat is your friend here; too hot and the outside burns before the Nutella even gets warm, too cool and you're left with a soggy, greasy wrap.
03 -
  • Pre-slice your bananas and have everything prepped before you start cooking—assembly is fast and you want to move at the pan's pace, not vice versa.
  • If your first wrap turns out a little ragged, don't panic; imperfect wraps taste exactly the same and honestly look more homemade.
