Chocolate, Oreos, and candy canes blend in this easy, sweet, and festive indulgence for any holiday gathering.
# Components:
→ Chocolate Base
01 - 250 grams semisweet or dark chocolate, finely chopped
02 - 250 grams white chocolate, finely chopped
→ Add-ins
03 - 10 Oreo cookies, broken into small pieces
04 - 50 grams miniature candy canes, crushed into coarse pieces
→ Optional Enhancements
05 - 0.5 teaspoon peppermint extract (optional)
# Directions:
01 - Line a baking sheet, approximately 23x33 cm (9x13 inches), with parchment paper.
02 - Gently melt the semisweet or dark chocolate using a double boiler method or in short intervals in the microwave, stirring until completely smooth.
03 - Pour the melted dark chocolate onto the prepared baking sheet. Spread it evenly with a spatula to a thickness of approximately 5 mm (1/4 inch).
04 - Evenly distribute half of the chopped Oreo cookies over the melted dark chocolate layer.
05 - Refrigerate the baking sheet for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the chocolate layer is just firm to the touch.
06 - In a separate clean bowl, melt the white chocolate using the same method as the dark chocolate. If using, stir in the peppermint extract until well combined.
07 - Carefully pour the melted white chocolate over the partially set dark chocolate layer. Gently spread it to cover the entire surface.
08 - Immediately sprinkle the remaining chopped Oreos and all the crushed candy canes evenly over the white chocolate layer. Lightly press them into the chocolate to ensure adhesion.
09 - Return the baking sheet to the refrigerator and chill for at least 1 hour, or until the bark is completely set and firm.
10 - Once fully chilled, break the bark into irregular pieces or carefully cut it into desired shapes for serving.
