01 - 8 beef hot dogs, sliced into 1-inch pieces

02 - 2 cups prepared chili, homemade or canned, with or without beans

03 - 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped

04 - 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

05 - 6 hot dog buns, sliced in half

06 - 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
07 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

08 - 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives or green onions
09 - 2 tablespoons sour cream
# Directions:
01 - Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray or butter.
02 - Place the halved hot dog buns cut-side up in the prepared baking dish. Brush the buns evenly with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder.
03 - Scatter sliced hot dog pieces evenly over the buns.
04 - Sprinkle the chopped yellow onion over the hot dog pieces.
05 - Pour the chili evenly over the hot dog and bun mixture.
06 - Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese generously over the entire casserole.
07 - Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbling and the casserole is heated through.
08 - Remove casserole from oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped chives or green onions and dollops of sour cream, if desired. Serve hot.
