→ Latte Components
05 - 2 shots (2 fluid ounces) freshly brewed espresso
06 - 1 1/4 cups whole milk or oat milk
07 - 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup, optional
# Directions:
01 - Melt unsalted butter in a small skillet over medium-low heat. Add sliced onion, granulated sugar, and a pinch of salt. Cook gently, stirring occasionally, until onions become deeply caramelized and golden, approximately 12 to 15 minutes.
02 - Transfer caramelized onions and pan juices into a blender. Add 2 tablespoons milk and blend until fully smooth. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve for a silky purée.
03 - Brew 2 shots espresso and pour evenly into two serving cups. Stir in 1 tablespoon of the onion purée per cup until thoroughly combined.
04 - Heat the remaining milk until steaming. Froth milk using a milk frother or whisk until foamy and creamy.
05 - Pour frothed milk over the espresso-onion mixture in each cup. Sweeten with honey or maple syrup if desired. Stir gently and serve immediately.
