# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • This soup is like a restart button for your taste buds—zippy lemon and ginger work little wonders on a weary palate.
  • It's endlessly adaptable, so no matter what vegetables are lingering around, you can whip up a nourishing meal with ease.
02 -
  • Once, I rushed and tossed in the lemon juice far too early—don’t make my mistake, or you’ll miss out on that sunny burst at the end.
  • Simmering without a lid really does help concentrate the flavors and keep the broth clear and vibrant.
03 -
  • Slice cabbage as thinly as possible—it cooks more evenly and the soup feels lighter.
  • Don’t throw away herb stems—tie them with twine and let them simmer with the broth, then remove before serving for subtle extra flavor.
